The Prescott-Russell Community Development Corporation is part of the 267 CFDC offices across Canada and is a federally supported not-for-profit organization with a mandate to promote business development, job creation and to strengthen the rural economy.
Bilingual Business Development Advisor Position
We seek an experienced bilingual (French and English) professional with strong financial analysis proficiency, business counselling ability, exceptional interpersonal skills and strong proficiency on multiple computer programs.
This position involves counselling small business owners and individuals looking to start a business. The position requires review, analysis, and assessment of loan applications for review by the Executive Director and consideration by the Board of Directors, as well as the implementation of the loans and ongoing management of the existing portfolio. This is a dynamic role that combines financial analysis with hands-on client support and community engagement.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in business, commerce or finance or equivalent in experience;
- Minimum three years’ experience in business loan management, including preparation of security documents and working knowledge of the Personal Property Security Act;
- Minimum three years’ experience providing business counselling, financial analysis and business plan assessment;
- Minimum 3 years working with rural small businesses and entrepreneurs;
- Aptitude to problem solve and pay close attention to detail;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team while consistently presenting a professional attitude and demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills, communications skills, sound judgment and strict confidentiality;
- Working knowledge of software programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to learn the MARGILL loan management software and ZOHO crm;
- Public speaking experience and ability to liaise with relevant organizations in both official languages;
- Provide monthly reports to the Board of Directors and public funders in French;
- Contribute to the development and delivery of bilingual workshops and business support programming;
- Assist in preparing monthly reports, loan summaries, and portfolio updates;
- Extensive knowledge of the communities located within the boundaries of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell, its business sectors and available small business information, programs and services;
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle and valid insurance;
- Successful applicant will be required to provide a CPIC;
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel within the region and beyond
- Willing to travel for extended periods
- Participation in meetings and occasional evening and weekend commitments
- Must be a Canadian citizen
- Permanent resident of Canada
