Below, you will find the registration category descriptions as well as the 2022 Gala of Excellence finalists, winners and sponsors.  

Which category best represents your business?  You may choose more than one category if your business meets all the general eligibility regulations.  The registration forms are among the key and decisive elements for the jury members.  So, take your time to fully describe your business and how it best represents that category.

GENERAL ELIGIBILITY REGULATIONS
  • To be eligible, your business must be a for-profit located within the geographic boundaries of Prescott and Russell;
  • All businesses must have at least three (3) full years of existence by December 31, 2023, with the exception of the "New Business" category in which businesses must have one full year of operation but less than three (3) years of operation, as of December 31, 2023;
  • The jury may cancel a category if the number of valid applicants is less than three;
  • For the "Young Entrepreneur" and "Daniel Gigault" categories, proof of age must be provided;
  • All finalist businesses must have a representative at the Gala of Excellence who can accept the award if the opportunity arises;
  • The deadline to submit your candidacy is April 30, 2024.

This award, determined by the jury, recognizes the performance of businesses manufacturing products in the following aspects
  1. Contribution to the economic development of the region.
  2. Job creation.
  3. Local or regional suppliers.
  4. Annual growth.
  5. Development of programs for employees.
  6. Succession preparation.
  7. Association member.
  8. Partnership creation.

This award, determined by the jury, recognizes the achievements of an accomplished businesswoman.  It is through her initiative, operating strategy, growth and sound business management that she succeeds in developing and expanding a diversified and inclusive economy.

Eligibility criteria:
  • must be an owner, partner or majority shareholder (51% or more of the shares), regardless of the sectors of activity;
  • the business must have been in operation for one full year;
  • the business must be established in Prescott and Russell;
  • businesswoman who demonstrates and possesses the energy and leadership that others aspire to.

This award, determined by the jury, recognizes inclusive businesses as a privately owned business that deliberately hire at least one person who would otherwise be at a very high risk of chronic unemployment and exclusion.  The inclusive business offers employment opportunities to a marginalized person and strives to provide special support to its employees to meet his or her needs.

CATEGORY  Daniel Gigault Award
This award, determined by the organization committee, recognizes a young entrepreneur, between 18 to 39 years old, whose business and personal achievements have contributed to the welfare of the Prescott and Russell residents as well as the community economic development in their community.

Eligibility criteria:
  • be a resident and have operated a permanent business in Prescott-Russell for at least two (2) years;
  • have completed at least two (2) fiscal years;
  • be the owner, partner or majority shareholder (51% or more of shares);
  • have shown perseverance, excellence and commitment to his/her business; 
  • have demonstrated continued growth since the opening of his/her business;
  • be actively involved in his/her community.

CATEGORY Excellence Award
